KCNK3 Knockout SKOV3 Polyclonal Cells

  • Product Type:

    Polyclonal Cell Population

  • Species:

    Homo sapiens (Human)

  • Tissue Source:

    Ovary

  • Disease:

    Ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma

The KCNK3 Knockout SK-OV-3 Polyclonal Cells provide a loss-of-function model for TASK-1 (K2P3.1) two-pore domain potassium channels in a human ovarian adenocarcinoma epithelial cell line. This polyclonal knockout population enables investigation of KCNK3 signaling, including its regulation by Gq-coupled receptors and protein kinase C, downstream effects on membrane depolarization and apoptosis, and interactions with 14-3-3 proteins. Applications include electrophysiology, drug screening for modulators, and studies of hypoxia and pH responses in ovarian cancer.

Description

This product comprises a CRISPR/Cas9-edited polyclonal knockout cell population in which the KCNK3 gene has been disrupted to eliminate functional TASK-1 (K2P3.1) potassium channels.

The polyclonal format provides a heterogeneous pool of edited cells, enabling robust loss-of-function studies without requiring clonal isolation.

This model is designed for researchers investigating the roles of background potassium leak currents in ovarian cancer cell biology, with emphasis on membrane potential regulation, calcium signaling, and adaptive responses to the tumor microenvironment.
